Sonic Colors- Austindo

Is this a good sonic game?

Graphics: The graphics of this game are really good, surprisingly. They're slightly better then sonic rush's graphics. The boss fights have pretty good graphics, but they obviously aren't as good as the wii version's. The game even has the cg cut-scene at the beginning. In my opinion, i give sonic colors a 8/10 as far as the graphics go.

Audio: The audio in this game is really good. Most 2D games have pretty bad audio. This one is really good. The audio is really clear, its on time, and its well recorded. The theme song is really good, i even liked it so much i downloaded it and put it on my phone. Just a little advice, don't turn the volume on your DS up all the way when playing this game, the sound is crazy loud (on the DSi atleast). I give sound a 10/10.

Story: The story in this game is one of the best I've EVER seen in a sonic game. Basically the whole story starts out with eggman building an interstellar theme park in space because he's "Done with his evil schemes". Sonic goes to the theme park and meets an alien race, the wisps. Obviously, eggman is yet again, up to something. The wisps power up sonic in different way's, which i will explain in the game-play section. Ive give the story a 10/10.


Game-Play: The game-play is a lot better then sonic rush's game-play in my opinion. Its basically the same controls except for the wisp power ups. Control pad is to move, a is jump, and l is duck, thats the main controls. Now for the wisps. There are 6 different wisps in the DS version. They are: the white boost, cyan laser, yellow drill, orange rocket, red burst, violet void. The white boost allows you to...well...boost. Cyan Laser allows you to turn into a laser and bounce off solid surfaces. Yellow drill allows you to drill through certain parts of the ground or walls. Orange Rocket allows you to boost directly up (like a rocket) and then float slowly down after you run out of power. Red burst allows you to turn into a fireball and burst in mid-air. And finally violet void allows you to float and suck up objects and enemies. All of the wisps are controlled with the x button. But first you must get the power up by getting one of the bubbles with the wisps in them. The only wisp that you don't need to get a power up for is the white boost, which you control with the y button. Although the game-play does seem confusing, its actually quite simple. I give game-play a 9/10.

Lasting Appeal: The game has online play, which really boosts online appeal's score. As far as the story mode, it's rather short, it took me about 2 days to beat, but it was fun while it lasted. Online play is ok, but only if your patient and are ok with waiting several minutes to find a person to play against. I give lasting appeal a 6.5/10

In total, i give Sonic Colors an 8.7/10. Definitely one of the best 2D sonic games I've ever played.

Oh I downloaded this the other day.
It was alright but got uninterested after a while.

i wish i could play, but i have no more nintendo systems

No, i just don't play nintendo like i used to, if i had a DS i'd prolly play. DS is fun wii is fun.
